Job summary

Sun Life Philippines seeks a senior actuarial leader to guide strategic direction, valuation, pricing, and regulatory reporting across actuarial operations. You will drive performance through robust controls and cross-functional collaboration with leadership teams, ensuring delivery of Financial KPIs and sound risk management.

The role requires at least 10 years in actuarial functions within insurance, with fellow status and strong leadership, communication, and project-management skills.

Qualifications

• College degree in Mathematics or Statistics.
• Fellow of the Actuarial Society of the Philippines.
• Prerequisite management training or at least five (5) years of experience managing people.
• Minimum 10 years of prior working experience in the insurance industry, including experience related to several actuarial functions.

Responsibilities

• Develops strategic direction for actuarial operations.
• Ensures efficient execution of actuarial functions and supports business objectives and KPIs.
• Maintains robust actuarial control environment and governance.

Job Description / Description Du Poste (titre)

• Develops strategic direction for actuarial operations covering the following areas in support of the company’s overall business plan and long-term strategy:
• Actuarial valuation
• Product pricing (review and support)
• Validation of actuarial assumptions (Actuarial Data Analytics and Experience Studies)
• Dividend setting (Par management)
• Capital Management (ex. LICAT, local solvency, Financial Condition Reporting)
• Reinsurance
• Financial projections and analyses (ex. Drivers of Earnings, Earnings at Risk, VNB)
• Preparation of financial reports relating to actuarial matters
• Regulatory reporting for all product lines
• Represents SLF before regulatory bodies, industry and professional organizations relating to actuarial matters
• Career development, engagement and performance management of actuarial staff

• Expert knowledge of generally accepted actuarial standards and practices
