Job summary

Togetherhood is seeking enthusiastic Chess instructors to engage K-12 students in Boston-area schools and communities. You will develop age-appropriate curricula, lead weekly classes, and create an inclusive, lively classroom that motivates learners.

This is contracted, supplemental 1099 work with terms lasting 6 to 18 weeks. You’ll be paid per class or per student, at $90–$120 per hour, and you’ll bring your own voice and creativity to the classroom.

What You'll Do

As a member of our network, you will be matched with opportunities to teach Chess to K-12 students at schools, buildings, and communities across Boston. These teaching opportunities will be for terms that could last anywhere from 6 weeks to 18 weeks.

Who You Are

A fun, enthusiastic, adaptable instructor, with experience teaching school age children, and who:

• Has subject matter expertise in Chess
• Has a passion and skill for building hands-on projects with kids
• Has excitement, joy, and passion for both teaching kids and personal development/learning
• Knows how to create a fun, structured, and inclusive classroom environment
• Brings your own voice and creativity to each class you teach

$90 - $120 an hour

Teachers in the Togetherhood network are paid per class, either flat rate or per-student (determined by the partner school). This is contracted, supplemental 1099 work. There is a separate materials budget for teachers to use for classes requiring one.
