The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in impact assessment, sustainability practices, and auditing methodologies. They will play a crucial role in driving our organization's sustainability initiatives, ensuring compliance with regulations, and maximizing our positive impact on society and the environment.
Responsibilities:
Impact Assessment:
- Conduct comprehensive impact assessments to evaluate the social, environmental, and economic effects of our operations and initiatives.
- Develop frameworks and methodologies for measuring and tracking key impact indicators.
- Collaborate with internal teams to integrate impact measurement into project planning and evaluation processes.
Sustainability Strategy:
- Assist in the development and implementation of sustainability strategies and initiatives aligned with organizational goals and industry best practices.
- Identify opportunities for improvement and innovation in sustainability practices across various departments.
- Stay abreast of emerging trends, regulations, and technologies in sustainability to inform strategy development.
Auditing and Compliance:
- Plan and execute internal audits to assess compliance with sustainability standards, regulations, and company policies.
- Coordinate external audits conducted by third-party organizations and regulatory bodies.
- Collaborate with relevant stakeholders to address audit findings and implement corrective actions.
Stakeholder Engagement:
- Engage with internal and external stakeholders to communicate our sustainability commitments, initiatives, and progress.
- Build partnerships with suppliers, vendors, and community organizations to enhance sustainability efforts and foster positive relationships.
- Represent the organization in sustainability-related forums, conferences, and working groups.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Environmental Science, Sustainability, Business Administration, or related field.
- Proven experience (3+ years) in impact assessment, sustainability management, and auditing, preferably in a corporate or nonprofit setting.
- In-depth knowledge of sustainability principles, frameworks (e.g., GRI, SASB), and standards (e.g., ISO 14001, ISO 26000).
- Familiarity with social and environmental impact assessment methodologies and tools.
- Experience in conducting internal and external audits, interpreting audit findings, and implementing corrective actions.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data, identify trends, and generate actionable insights.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.
- Project management experience, including the ability to prioritize tasks, manage timelines, and deliver results within budget.
- Certification in sustainability (e.g., CSR-P, GSCP), auditing (e.g., ISO 14001 Lead Auditor), or related fields is a plus.
- Commitment to environmental and social responsibility, with a passion for driving positive change and making a meaningful impact.
