About the role

The CCTV Operator is responsible for operating and maintaining surveillance equipment, watching live video feeds, and reporting any suspicious activities or safety breaches. This role requires high attention to detail, the ability to remain calm under pressure, and a strong commitment to confidentiality and ethical standards.

Key responsibilities

• Constant surveillance of live camera feeds across multiple screens to detect crimes, safety hazards, or unauthorized access

• Immediately notifying security personnel, management, or emergency services (police, fire, medical) when an incident is detected

• Recording, storing, and retrieving video footage for evidence or internal investigations in accordance with data privacy laws

• Conducting routine checks on cameras and monitors to ensure they are functioning correctly and reporting any technical faults to the IT or maintenance department

• Maintaining accurate logs of all daily activities, significant incidents, and equipment malfunctions

• Assisting in the preparation of video evidence for legal proceedings or internal disciplinary actions

About you

• Exceptional focus and the ability to spot subtle irregularities or suspicious behavior over long shifts

• Familiarity with Digital Video Recorders (DVR), Network Video Recorders (NVR), and Video Management Software (VMS)

• Clear verbal and written communication skills for reporting incidents and coordinating with ground security teams
