A Cashier is responsible for providing friendly and efficient customer service while accurately processing sales transactions. This role requires attention to detail, strong communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced retail or food-service environment.
- Greet customers warmly and provide helpful, responsive service.
- Operate cash registers, point-of-sale (POS) systems, and credit card machines
- Scan or enter items, process payments, and issue receipts or change accurately.
- Assist customers with questions, product locations, or service needs.
- Handle returns, exchanges, and refunds in accordance with company policies.
- Keep the checkout area clean, organized, and well-stocked (bags, receipt paper, etc.).
- Monitor inventory in front-end areas and report low stock.
- Follow cash-handling procedures and maintain accuracy throughout shifts.
- Resolve customer concerns or elevate issues to a supervisor when needed.
- Support team members with store tasks such as stocking or organizing displays when required.
Skills & Qualifications
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Basic math skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to multitask and remain calm during busy periods.
- Reliability, punctuality, and a positive attitude.
- Previous cashier or retail experience (preferred but not required).
