Job description

Cashier responsibilities include receiving payments and issuing receipts, wrapping packages and keeping track of all cash and credit transactions ensuring all transactions run smoothly and will help maximize customer satisfaction.

• Welcoming customers, answering their questions, and providing recommendations
• Manage transactions with customer using scales, cash registers (POS), and other electronic devices, maintain adequate change denominations in the cash drawer & request for change
• Encodes/scans the item, confirms that the price and quantity are correct, and collects the payment, issuing receipts, refunds as per proper procedure, giving exact change to every customer
• Reconcile cash drawers, sales receipts, and prepare daily reports
• Reporting to the Supervisor any changes, concerns regarding the use and issues of the POS
• Breakdown and total purchases by acquiring prices of taxable and non-taxable items.
• Resolve customer complaints, guide them and provide relevant information
• Balancing cash register and generating reports for credit and debit sales
• Bagging or wrapping purchases to ensure safe transport
• Cross-sell products and introduce new ones
• Other tasks that may be assigned from time to time

Qualifcations

• High School Graduate or at least College Level or equivalent vocational course
• At least one (1) year Customer Service or Cashier experience
• Ability to handle transactions accurately and responsively
• Able to handle cash registers (POS) machines
• Reports any discrepancies as we as track businesses on a daily balance sheet or report
• High level of energy with strong customer service skills
• Basic math and computer skills
• Ability to stand, walk, lift heavy items, and work with other team members in a fast-paced environment to provide excellent service
