Responsibilities

• Monitor patients' comfort during tests and alert physicians to any abnormalities.
• Explain testing procedures to patients to obtain cooperation and reduce anxiety.
• Conduct various cardiovascular tests to record patients' cardiac activity.
• Check, test, and maintain cardiology equipment, making minor repairs as needed.
• Supervise or train other cardiology technologists or students.
• Type and encode primary results before the cardiologist reading.
• Work as a medical secretary for the cardiologist.
• Receive and answer queries from patients and relatives.
• Maintain patient privacy and confidentiality and process monthly reports.
• Perform other tasks assigned by management.

Job description

1. Monitor patients comfort during tests, alerting physicians to abnormalities or changes in patients’ responses
2. Explain testing procedures to patients to obtain cooperation and reduce anxiety
3. Conduct electrocardiogram, echocardiogram, stress testing, ambulatory blood pressure monitoring, holter monitoring or other cardiovascular tests to record patients’ cardiac activity
4. Check, test, and maintain cardiology equipment, making minor repairs when necessary to ensure proper operation
5. Supervise or train other cardiology technologists or students
6. Type and encode primary result before the cardiologist reading
7. Work as a medical secretary for cardiologist
8. Receive and answer phone/personal queries from patient and relative
9. Maintain patient privacy and confidentiality prior and after the test and processed monthly reports for department performance
10. Perform other tasks that may be assigned by management
