Job summary

TalentVibe Business Consultancy is seeking a data center cabling design and coordination specialist to manage and oversee cabling projects in existing and new data centers, aligning with global standards and design guidelines.

You will work with internal teams, coordinate with vendors, prepare tender documents, review drawings, and support move/add/change activities while maintaining accurate cabling records.

Qualifications

• Experience with structured data center copper and fiber cabling solutions.
• Knowledge of data center racks, cabinets, and patching systems.
• Familiarity with cabling testing methodologies and ISO/TIA standards.

Responsibilities

• Provide cabling design management and coordination for existing and new data centers.
• Prepare and coordinate cabling-related tender documentation and specifications.
• Coordinate cabling requirements with networking, server, and security teams.
• Provide project management and oversight for cabling activities including budgeting and vendor coordination.
• Support close-out activities with cabling operation manuals and as-built documentation.
• Plan and coordinate new or changed cabling within data center environments.
• Maintain accuracy of cabling documents such as patching and patch panel records.
• Provide coordination with data center operations for move/add/change activities and vendor oversight.
• Coordinate outside normal hours for vendor installations and handovers where necessary.

Job description

Provide cabling design management and coordination services for existing and new data centers, including alignment with global EDC Infrastructure Cabling Engineering standards and design guidelines. This role encompasses project management and oversight support for cabling-related activities, coordination with internal technology teams, vendor management, and support for data center operations teams on move, add, and change activities.

Key responsibilities

Provide cabling design management and coordination services for existing and new data centers, including alignment with global EDC Infrastructure Cabling Engineering standards and design guidelines

Prepare and coordinate cabling-related tender documentation and specifications, including design deliverables, scope definitions, and evaluation support during vendor selection processes

Coordinate with internal technology teams (e.g. networking, server, and security teams) to consolidate cabling requirements

Provide project management and oversight support for cabling-related activities, including budget tracking, vendor coordination, review of design and shop drawings, logistics coordination, scheduling oversight, and commissioning and handover coordination

Support project close-out activities, including consolidation of cabling operation manuals and as-built documentation

Support planning and coordination of new or changed cabling requirements within existing data center environments

Maintain accuracy of cabling documentation and records (e.g. patching records and patch panel records)

Provide coordination support with data center operations teams for move, add, and change activities, including vendor coordination and consumables sourcing oversight

Provide oversight or coordination support outside normal business hours to support vendor-performed installations, testing, or handover activities where necessary

About you

Experience with structured data center copper and fiber cabling solutions, including Cat6A copper & fiber (OS2, OM4+) products and high density fiber cassette solutions

Knowledge of data center racks, cabinets, and patching systems commonly used in enterprise environments

Understanding of industry-standard cabling testing methodologies and applicable ISO/TIA testing standards

Knowledge of common data center cabling interfaces and architectures (e.g. LC, MPO/MTP)

Ability to coordinate with enterprise networking platforms where relevant

Familiarity with Fluke Network Instruments (e.g. DSX-5000 or 8000 Cable Analyzer)

Familiarity with LC, MPO/MTP interfaces for single or multimode fiber solutions

Ability to produce and review technical design documentation using AutoCAD

Ability to operate within live data center environments while adhering to operational and safety constraints

Familiarity with internationally recognized data center cabling standards such as RCDD (desired)
