Job summary

Arch Global Services (Philippines) Inc. is seeking a Business Systems Analyst III to collaborate with business owners and users, translating complex requests into precise specifications for software and data warehouse projects.

You will help populate the roadmap, drive backlog prioritization, and ensure stories are detailed for development, testing and delivery, while guiding stakeholders on feasible functionality and delivery sequencing.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, business or related field plus 5–7 years related experience.
• Insurance and Reinsurance knowledge is a plus
• Experience with software development lifecycle and data warehousing concepts

Responsibilities

• Drive roadmap with business stakeholders.
• Capture stakeholder requests and translate into system specifications (functional, non-functional, UI, reports, interfaces).
• Coordinate with software engineers to align delivery with the roadmap.
• Collaborate with QA to ensure adequate testing coverage.
• Guide stakeholders on feasible functionality and delivery sequencing.
• Manage requirements risks and coordinate interdependencies.
• Analyze current and future state business processes.
• Assist in documenting BA artifacts and standards.

The Business Systems Analyst III is responsible for collaborating with the business system owners, and users to capture the right business requests and accurately translating them to specifications that aid design, coding and testing of complex software and/or data warehouse applications within the organization. The incumbent performs a liaison function between the business users, software engineers and QA analysts for implementing software solutions to accurately realize business goals.

The incumbent will help populate the roadmap, drive prioritization of the backlog, and ensure stories are detailed enough for development to be planned for.

• Work with the business stakeholders to drive the roadmap and prioritize initiatives.
• Work with the business stakeholders to accurately capture all stakeholder requests and translate them into system specifications which typically include functional, non-functional, user interface, reports and external interface specifications.
• Work with software engineers to ensure that the engineering realization is in accordance with the functionality desired in the roadmap.
• Work with the testers to ensure that all software components are tested adequately and participates in Quality Assurance testing as theIT workload requires.
• Provides guidance to stakeholders on what functionality is possible and in what sequence of delivery.
• Manages requirements risks by proactively tracking and communicating issues, and devising methods to mitigating them.
• Liaise with other project and program areas to coordinate interdependencies and resolve issues.
• Analyzes, maps, and communicates current state and future state business processes.
• Supports stakeholders in the resolution of in-depth user questions and issues.
• Maintains a working knowledge of new technology and business analysis standards & practices.
• Collaborates with IT management to define and develop documentation & business analysis artifact standards, guidelines, processes, and templates.

• Ability to think strategically and tactically to translate long term goals into releasable components.

• Self-starter able to accomplish tasks with minimal oversight.

• In depth knowledge of business analysis processes, techniques, and work products

• Advanced knowledge and understanding of underwriting improvement and digital enablement (portals and APIs).

• Understanding experience with user experience design for web applications.

• Experience in Agile software development processes

• Excellent analytical, problem solving and organizational skills.

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to effectively collaborate and convey information to stakeholders and software engineers and testers.

• Requirements gathering from the business users as well as developing system specifications for projects, enhancements and bug/issues.

• Strong customer service skills to provide stakeholder systems support on high level issues.

• Excellent understanding of how technology impacts the business.

• Excellent team player with a proven background of individual contribution.

• Excellent interpersonal, documentation, communication, and presentation skills.

• Insurance and Reinsurance Knowledge is a plus

Required knowledge and skills would typically be acquired through a Bachelors degree in computer science, business or related field plus 5 to 7 years related experience.
