Business Development Manager – Marine Insurance
A well-established organization in the maritime and logistics industry is looking for an experienced Business Development Manager – Marine Insurance to help expand its marine insurance portfolio and strengthen relationships across the shipping sector.
This is an excellent opportunity for professionals with a solid background in marine insurance broking or underwriting who enjoy building client relationships, developing strategic partnerships, and delivering tailored insurance solutions for the maritime industry.
What You'll Do
- Drive new business development and identify growth opportunities within the marine insurance market.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with shipowners, charterers, commodity traders, marine insurers, P&I Clubs, and other key industry stakeholders.
- Develop and implement client acquisition and portfolio growth strategies.
- Manage and grow a portfolio of marine insurance accounts while ensuring excellent client service.
- Analyze clients' risk exposures and recommend appropriate marine insurance solutions, including:
- Protection & Indemnity (P&I)
- Hull & Machinery
- Marine Liabilities
- Negotiate insurance terms with underwriters to secure competitive coverage.
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders to ensure smooth policy administration and claims support.
- Stay updated on marine insurance trends, regulatory developments, and market conditions.
- Represent the organization in industry meetings, conferences, and networking events.
What We're Looking For
- At least 5 years of experience in Marine Insurance Broking, Underwriting, or a related maritime insurance role.
- Active Licensing Exam Certification from the Philippine Insurance Commission is required.
- Experience in business development, client acquisition, or sales within the insurance or maritime sector is highly preferred.
- Strong understanding of marine insurance products including P&I, Hull & Machinery, Cargo, and related liability coverages.
- Excellent negotiation, relationship management, and communication skills.
- Existing network within the marine insurance or shipping industry is an advantage.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office 365.
