Job summary

RELX is seeking a Finance Professional to provide and interpret financial information for Sales and Revenue or Costs in a global context. The role supports the Business Decision Support organization with trend analysis and business commentary, reporting to a Finance Manager as SME on key financial systems.

You will validate actuals, prepare forecasts and budgets, and explain insights during Month-End close, budgeting and reforecast cycles.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting or related area is required.
• Minimum 5-7 years’ experience in financial reporting, planning, and analysis (revenue, cost, expense); budgeting and commentary experience.
• Strong analytical skills in a complex international environment and ability to travel occasionally.
• Excellent knowledge of financial and management accounting, processes and systems.

Responsibilities

• Provide and interpret financial information for Sales, Revenue or Costs.
• Support analysis and monitoring of trends for internal business customers.

Job description

The key responsibilities for this role include providing and interpreting financial information for Sales and Revenue or Costs, supporting the Business Decision Support (BDS) organization in analyzing and monitoring trends and advising their internal business customers accordingly. Reporting to a Finance Manager, this role is the Subject Matter Expert (SME) within either the S&R CoE or the Cost CoE on key financial systems and models, which include: Hyperion PBF planning tool, Hyperion Workforce planning tool, Sales data warehouse (Oracle/OBIEE) or any other tool that we functionally own within FP&A and Reporting. In this role you will be asked to validate and interpret actuals, prepare and explain forecast and budget data and have the ability to provide commentaries and insight. You will be responsible for delivering the reporting and analysis as part of the various reporting cycles, including Month-End close, budget and reforcasting. This is done in close collaboration with the FD and BC's of the Business Decision Support (BDS) teams. As part of our continuous improvement cycle you drive improvements through projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting or related area.
• Minimum of 5-7 years’ experience in financial reporting, planning, and analysis (revenue, cost, expense); with actual experience in budgeting and providing commentaries
• Strong analytical skills, a self-starter with "can do" mentality; quick learner in a complex and demanding environment.
• Excellent knowledge and understanding of financial and management accounting, process and systems.
• Affinity with large and complex international working environment; ability to travel occasionally.
• Commercial and organizational awareness, ideally in a comparable industry.
• Good communication skills.
