Job summary

Healthway Hospital Fairview Inc. (FEU-NRMF Medical Center) is seeking a Biomedical Equipment Technician to install, calibrate, and maintain medical devices across hospital units. You will ensure devices meet clinical requirements and safety standards.

The role includes safety testing, clinical staff training on device operation, and collaboration with suppliers for external service repairs to maintain optimal patient care across departments.

Responsibilities

• Install and setup medical and related equipment in hospitals and labs.
• Conduct safety tests to verify electrical and mechanical safety.
• Provide technical consultation with clinical staff for equipment operation and troubleshooting.
• Demonstrate and train medical personnel on proper device use and safety.
• Coordinate with external vendors and evaluate third-party service quality.

Job description

Install and Inspect Equipment:

Set up and install medical and related technical equipment in hospitals, laboratories, and research facilities to support physicians, nurses, and engineers involved in patient care and diagnostics. Such as patient monitors, ECGs, defibrillators, blood gas analyzers, electrosurgical units, anesthesia machines, x-ray equipment, infusion pumps, pacemakers, blood pressure transducers and sphygmomanometers and sterilizers

Safety Testing:

Conduct safety checks and performance tests to ensure all equipment and the healthcare facility’s structural environment are free from electrical and mechanical hazards, following patient and occupational safety standards.

Technical Consultation:

Work closely with medical and research staff to confirm equipment operates correctly and meets clinical needs. Apply technical knowledge of electronics, anatomy, physiology, chemistry, and physics during troubleshooting and evaluation.

Demonstration and Training:

Provide demonstrations or instructions to medical personnel on the correct and safe operation of medical devices.

Third-Party Service Coordination:

Assist in evaluating the quality of third-party service repairs and coordinate with external vendors when necessary.
