JOB DESCRIPTION

The Biomedical Technician is responsible for the installation, inspection, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, calibration, repair, and documentation of medical equipment used throughout the hospital. The role ensures that all biomedical devices are safe, functional, and compliant with applicable regulatory and hospital standards to support quality patient care.

Equipment Maintenance

• Perform preventive maintenance, inspection, testing, calibration, and repair of medical equipment according to the manufacturer's recommendations and hospital policies.
• Troubleshoot and resolve equipment malfunctions promptly to minimize downtime.
• Install, assemble, and commission newly acquired medical equipment.
• Conduct performance verification and electrical safety testing of biomedical devices.

Regulatory Compliance

• Ensure compliance with hospital policies, safety standards, and applicable government regulations.
• Assist during inspections, audits, and accreditation activities by preparing required maintenance records and documentation.
• Adhere to infection prevention and occupational safety protocols while servicing equipment.
