Job summary

Abbott Laboratories in Taguig is seeking a Billing Specialist to review and process billing data, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance for healthcare services. You will support month-end deliverables, maintain records, and resolve discrepancies with insurers, patients, and internal teams.

The role requires 2+ years in healthcare accounts, data processing, and proficiency with Excel/Outlook. Night shifts may be required, and a college degree or equivalent is preferred.

Qualifications

  • College diploma or equivalent; additional education in management or healthcare preferred.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in healthcare accounts, preferably with Revenue Cycle Management.
  • 1–2 years of data processing and customer service experience preferred.
  • Proficiency with Excel, Word, Outlook and data management systems.

Responsibilities

  • Generate, review, and submit accurate billing data based on contracts, services rendered, and orders.
  • Prepare, review, and submit accurate medical claims in accordance with payer guidelines.
  • Ensure claims are submitted within timely filing requirements and resubmit rejected or corrected claims as needed.
  • Maintain accurate patient information in relevant Acelis Connected Health data management systems.
  • Apply knowledge of company processes to respond to communications from insurance companies, patients, and internal departments.

The Opportunity

As the Billing Specialist, you will be responsible for reviewing and processing billing data to ensure accurate, timely, and compliant billing of healthcare services. You will play a key role in maintaining billing records, preparing claims, resolving discrepancies, validating billing details, and supporting month-end deliverables.

What You’ll Do
  • Generate, review, and submit accurate billing data based on contracts, services rendered, and orders.
  • Prepare, review, and submit accurate medical claims in accordance with payer guidelines.
  • Ensure claims are submitted within timely filing requirements and resubmit rejected or corrected claims as needed.
  • Maintain accurate patient information in relevant Acelis Connected Health data management systems.
  • Apply knowledge of company processes and procedures to respond to incoming communication from insurance companies, patients, and internal departments.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • College diploma or equivalent; additional education, particularly in management or healthcare, is preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in healthcare accounts, preferably with Revenue Cycle Management experience.
  • One to two years of data processing experience preferred.
  • One to two years of customer service or provider relations experience preferred.
  • Proficiency with technology, including computers, software applications, and phone systems.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong understanding of company products, policies, and services.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Detail-oriented with a team-focused approach.
  • Strong professional communication, writing, organizational, and time management skills.
  • Basic Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook experience required.
  • Demonstrates proficiency and accuracy using Alere Home Monitoring data management systems related to the job function.

Work Schedule Requirements
  • Must be able to sit at a standard workstation for extended periods.
  • Must be able to work with a standard computer and monitor using a keyboard.
  • No lifting required for this position.
  • Must have the ability to report to work on time and work the entire assigned shift.
  • Must be able to work a night shift from a minimum of 8:00 PM to 8:00 AM Philippine Standard Time.
