Job summary

ConnectOS is seeking a BI Engineer to support and enhance our BI portfolio. You will engage with internal customers to analyze requirements, develop robust BI solutions, and ensure production stability across Snowflake, SQL Server, and Power BI.

You will design data models, develop ETL processes, and create interactive dashboards while aligning with ITIL practices and industry standards. Hybrid work arrangement in Metro Manila is offered with growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• At least 1-year in the IT industry.
• At least 1-year hands-on BI role on Snowflake & Power BI.
• Working knowledge of ITIL principles.
• Bachelor's degree in information technology or equivalent.
• Demonstrate the ability to establish and maintain effective and long-term working relationships.
• Demonstrate strong attention to detail, with excellent analytical, active listening and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Engage in analysis and review of business requirements and develop robust BI code.
• Monitor, maintain, and troubleshoot the production BI portfolio.
• Provide input into architectural decisions for BI development.
• Document architecture, design, and operational procedures.
• Adhere to ICT change management practices for deployments.
• Participate in after-hours on-call roster.
• Scope, design, plan, engineer and implement new BI solutions.
• Ensure code meets quality standards and industry best practices.
• Design and develop dashboards and reports using Power BI.
• Perform ad hoc data analysis with T-SQL to answer business questions.
• Collaborate with IT, product, and marketing to gather requirements.
• Communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

Schedule: Monday to Friday (7AM to 4PM PHT | 6AM to 3PM PHT)

Hybrid 3x per week onsite

What will you do?

Operational Performance

• Application, BI Support
  • Engage in the analysis and review of business requirements with internal customers users and develop appropriate, robust, extensible, quality and efficient application programming code to meet requirements.
  • Effectively and efficiently monitor, maintain, performance tune and troubleshoot the production application and BI portfolio.
  • Work with Solution Architect and provide input into architectural decisions for the application and BI development.
  • Ensure that all application, BI engineering work practices and systems processes are comprehensively documented such as architecture and design documents, as well as operational procedures.
  • Ensure that ICT change management practices are adhered to with all deployments of application code ensuring statutory and JSOX obligations are met.
  • Provide after-hours support by participating in a rotational On Call roster
• Delivery of new application engineering projects
  • Work with stakeholders for scoping, designing, planning, engineering and implementation of new application solutions and services to meet business requirements.
  • Ensure that the application code deployed meets set quality standards and align with established industry standards and best practices.
• Data Modelling and Warehousing
  • Design and implement data models within Snowflake, SQL Server to support efficient reporting and analysis.
  • Develop and maintain ETL processes to extract, transform, and load data from diverse sources into Snowflake.
  • Optimize data warehouse performance for faster query responses and efficient data storage.
  • Monitor query performance in Snowflake and optimize T-SQL code to ensure efficient execution.
  • Identify and resolve bottlenecks to improve overall data processing speed.
• Report and Dashboard Development
  • Design and develop interactive dashboards and reports using Power BI and other BI tools to visualize key metrics and trends.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand reporting requirements and translate them into effective visualizations.
• Data Analysis and Insights
  • Perform ad hoc data analysis using T-SQL to answer business questions and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Analyse complex datasets to uncover patterns, correlations, and anomalies that can inform decision-making.
• Collaboration and Communication
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams (e.g., IT, product, marketing) to gather requirements and deliver BI solutions.
  • Clearly communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Technical Skills
  • Proven experience (3+ years) in designing and developing BI solutions using Snowflake, SQL Server, SSIS, and SSRS.
  • Proficiency in Power BI visualization tool.
  • Proficiency in data modelling concepts using dbt.
  • Experience with data warehousing principles and ETL processes using Azure Data factory, Fivetran and SQL Server SSIS.
  • Experience in process orchestration using Apache Airflow.
  • Experience with other cloud data platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure).
  • Knowledge of Python and scripting languages for data automation is an added plus.
  • Familiarity with data governance and security best practices.
  • Understanding of machine learning concepts and their application in BI.
