Buddle is seeking a Backend-focused Software Engineer to join a growing fintech team. You will design, build, and maintain backend services powering financial transactions, reporting, and workflows.

This role emphasizes problem-solving across systems and fast-learning of new tools in a dynamic environment. The ideal candidate has 2-4 years in software engineering, with experience as a full-stack developer and strong API/content integration skills.

Qualifications

• 2-4 years of experience in software engineering with a backend focus.
• Proven experience as a full-stack developer with backend specialization.
• Strong foundation in programming, system design, and problem-solving.
• Hands-on experience building and integrating APIs, backend services, and cloud-based systems.
• Familiarity with modern development tools, frameworks, and environments (any major language or stack).
• Experience with mobile development frameworks such as React Native is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain backend services that support financial transactions and integrations.
• Develop features such as transaction processing, reporting systems, and backend workflows.
• Work with APIs and third-party integrations within the payments or financial ecosystem.
• Ensure code quality, performance, and scalability across services.
• Support deployment and monitoring of services in a cloud-based environment.
• Collaborate with Product Managers and Designers to translate requirements into working features.
• Build and improve customer-facing functionalities related to transactions, balances, and financial data.
• Continuously refine system flows to improve performance, reliability, and user experience.
