Job summary

Umpisa Inc. is seeking a backend software developer in the Philippines to implement new functionality, fix issues, and support releases.

You will build secure APIs and microservices in collaboration with front-end engineers and the development lead, while adhering to best practices and design patterns. Ideal candidates have a BS CS or related degree, 4+ years of experience in software development, and hands-on experience with Java 8+, Spring Boot, RESTful APIs, PostgreSQL, and containerized

Qualifications

BS Computer Science or Software Engineering or similar course.
4+ years experience in software development.
Experience in agile environment.
Excellent communication skills (oral/written).
Excellent problem-solving / analytical skills.

Responsibilities

Develop and maintain secure APIs and Database Tables following software development best practices.
Collaborate with Development Lead and Front-end Engineers to design efficient and reusable Microservices.
Participate with the team on Scrum Events.
Demonstrate robust and reusable code adhering to best practices and design patterns.
Research latest libraries by creating POC builds.
Develop API tests for back-end services passing code coverage standards.
Test quality of output before hand over to SIT and UAT.
Problem solve with stakeholders to determine best approach.
Collaborate in development of bank standards as appropriate.
Performs other duties as may be assigned from time to time.
