We have many excellent opportunities for AVEVA Designers with a minimum of 5 years current experience in piping facility and/or utility design to be a part of dynamic engineering and design teams on many diverse and challenging projects in the energy industry. Applicants are expected to have a good understanding of the fundamental principles of piping design, instrument and controls, and mechanical and electrical equipment layout and be proficient in AVEVA E3D and P&ID piping design software and experience with proficiency in AutoCAD with Plant 3D as a plus. We are seeking applicants to apply their creativity and skills to a wide variety of projects in the exploration and production, transportation and storage, and refinery sectors of the energy/oil and gas industry.

Our workflow generally involves accurately capturing and documenting site conditions utilizing a variety of technologies including land surveying, 3D color laser scanning, UAV drone photogrammetry, GIS mapping, and record drawings. It then progresses to the engineering and design phases utilizing 3D piping and modeling software such as AVEVA E3D, AVEVA DRAW, AVEVA P&ID, AutoCAD Plant 3D and/or CADWorx. Next is the client presentation and approval process involving the use of AVEVA, AutoCAD, Navisworks, etc. to communicate the design intent. The final stages involve the development of construction and permitting drawings to develop plans, sections, details, and piping isometrics. Seeking candidates with at least 5 years of recent (within the past 2 years) experience supporting AVEVA E3D, P&ID, Electrical, Engineering projects. Preferably, well versed with AVEVA Draw, and deliverables production. Candidates must have at least 5 years of current experience on projects that use Imperial Units (e.g. feet, inches, miles).

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare layout and design of oil & gas piping design systems using AVEVA software (P&ID, E3D, DRAW, etc.)
• Produce quality piping design layouts, orientation of process equipment and interconnecting piping
• Produce an accurate Material Take Off list for all components in project design to be utilized for construction and purchasing purposes.
• Prepare model of new and existing electrical conduit and cable tray utilizing the AVEVA E3D CWAYS Module.
• Prepare model of new and existing structural items utilizing AVEVA Structures Module.
• Generate Piping Line List and Tie‑In list when required.
• Generate isometric drawings using AVEVA E3D.
• Determine line count and estimated isometric quantities based on P&IDs.
• Incorporate redlines provided by the engineer and client.
• Be knowledgeable of client procedures, project procedures, and specifications.
• Utilize a 3D model (AVEVA E3D or Navisworks) review software to monitor design quality and progress.
• Assist with coordination of 3D model activities, i.e., input, interference reconciliation, with other physical related disciplines.

Qualifications and Requirements (Non‑negotiable)

• Must have some oil and gas/energy industry related experience.
• Must be able to work independently to produce a quality drawing and construction package while collaborating with the project team.
• Candidate must have at least 5 years of current experience on projects that use Imperial Units (e.g. feet, inches, miles).
• Required 5 years of current experience using AVEVA (P&ID, E3D, etc.). Experience with PDMS is not transferable.
• Ability to develop 3D piping models from P&IDs, pipe specifications, vendor data and record drawings.
• Ability to generate isometric drawings and understanding of material and component attributes in the bill of materials.
• Ability to work with AVEVA Electrical for conduit routing, cabling, cable trays utilizing AVEVA CWAYS module.
• Ability to modify and create orthographic layouts (Plans, Sections & Details).
• Ability to modify and generate isometric drawings.
• Ability to create general arrangements and equipment layouts.
• Strong proficiency with AutoCAD.
• Knowledgeable in pipe specifications and pipe fitting materials.
• Experience with AutoCAD Plant 3D.
• Experience with Navisworks is preferred.
• Work independently of engineers but confer with engineers and other drafters for design concept interpretation.
• Experience with SCADA & DCS systems (Wonderware, AVEVA OMI, GE Proficy) is a plus.
