Job summary

V2X in the Philippines is seeking an experienced Maintenance Supervisor to lead field-level overhaul work on vehicles powered by internal combustion engines. You will supervise automotive mechanics, plan workloads, and ensure safety standards are met in a demanding shop environment.

The role requires a US citizen with a high school diploma, an apprenticeship in auto repair, and the ability to obtain a Philippines driver’s license and CAC.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required; US citizen.
• One-year related experience may substitute for education if required.
• Apprenticeship in Light/Heavy Automobile Repair preferred.
• Ability to obtain Philippines Driver’s License is required.
• Must be able to obtain CAC (Common Access Card).
• GCSS-A knowledge is highly desired; complete G-Trak training within 30 days of CAC issuance.

Responsibilities

• Perform full range of repair and modification work on vehicles powered by internal combustion engines.
• Examine vehicles to determine damage or malfunctions.
• Troubleshoot, isolate, and identify faults in equipment systems.
• Test drive vehicles and use diagnostic equipment.
• Repairs, relines, replaces, and adjusts components.
• Follow checklists and procedures to inspect all critical systems and parts.
• Test and adjust repaired systems to meet military specs.
• Perform routine maintenance such as oil changes and tune-ups.
• Disassemble units and inspect parts for wear using precision tools.
• Provide oversight and supervision of automotive mechanics.
• Plan deadlines and work sequences with supervisor guidelines.
• Ensure safety procedures and PPE compliance.

Under the supervision of the Maintenance Supervisor, performs the full range of field-level overhaul work on one or more types of vehicles powered by internal combustion engines, gasoline, or multi-fuel. Implements regulatory safety requirements and ensures that subordinates wear appropriate safety equipment and follow pertinent safety precautions.

Responsibilities

• Performs the full range of repair and modification work on heavy/light equipment and vehicles powered by internal combustion engines
• Examine vehicles to determine extent of damage or malfunctions.
• Accurately troubleshoots, isolates, and identify faults of equipment systems and subsystems
• Test drive vehicles, and test components and systems, using equipment such as infrared engine analyzers, compression gauges, and computerized diagnostic devices
• Repairs, relines, replaces, and adjusts
• Follows checklists to ensure all important parts are examined, including belts, hoses, steering systems, spark plugs, brake and fuel systems, wheel bearings, and other potentially troublesome areas
• Follows repair procedures, using charts, and technical manuals
• Tests and adjusts repaired systems to meet military performance specifications
• Performs routine and scheduled maintenance services such as oil changes, lubrications, and tune-ups
• Disassemble units and inspect parts for wear, using micrometers, calipers, and gauges
• Provides oversight and supervision of automotive mechanics.
• Establishes deadlines, priorities, and work sequences, and plans work assignments based on general work schedules, methods, and guidelines set by the supervisor.
• Implements regulatory safety requirements and ensures that subordinates wear appropriate safety equipment and follow pertinent safety precautions.
• Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Education / Certifications: One-year related experience may be substituted for one year of education, if degree is required.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Must be a US Citizen
  • Apprenticeship in Light/Heavy Automobile Repair, Automotive Mechanic or similar preferred.
  • Ability to obtain Philippines Driver’s License is required
  • Must be able to obtain Common Access Card (CAC)
  • GCSS-A knowledge is highly desired; must be able to complete G-Trak training within 30 days of CAC being issued.
• Experience:
  • Three (3) years of experience in a leadership position.
  • At minimum Five (5) years’ experience as an automotive maintenance mechanic.
• Skills & Technology Used:
  • Must have knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.
  • Familiar with the usage of computer based technical manuals preferred.
  • The ability to troubleshoot, determining causes of operating errors and deciding what to do about it.
  • Requires a collaborative work style, fostering cooperation, and teamwork.
  • Must exercise discretion and good sound judgment.
  • Capable of performing work while wearing personnel protective equipment.

• Working Environment:
  • Work is generally conducted in a shop environment; however, duties may involve the conduct of work in the out-of-doors area with a potential exposure to extreme climatic conditions.
  • Employee use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is required in certain areas. Such PPE includes but is not limited to head, foot, hand, torso, respiratory, vision and hearing protective devices. Must comply with OSHA, EPA, and Fire Regulations and published company work rules
