Responsibilities

• An Automotive Mechanic is responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining vehicles to ensure they are running efficiently and safely. This role involves hands‑on work with various systems of vehicles, from engines to electrical components, and requires technical expertise.
• Diagnose Vehicle Issues: Use diagnostic tools and equipment to identify problems with a vehicle’s engine, transmission, exhaust system, brakes, and other key components.
• Repair and Replace Parts: Perform repairs or replace worn‑out or damaged parts such as brakes, engines, transmissions, or belts.
• Routine Maintenance: Conduct regular maintenance services like oil changes, tire rotations, fluid checks, and air filter replacements.
• Test Drive Vehicles: Test drive vehicles after repairs or maintenance to ensure everything is functioning properly.

Education and Certification

• High School Diploma or Equivalent is typically required.
