Job summary

Ascendion is seeking a QA Automation Engineer to join our Quality Engineering team. The role focuses on designing, developing, and executing automated and manual tests for web and mobile applications, ensuring quality and performance. Mid-level to senior professional with strong automation framework experience is preferred.

You will design scalable frameworks, collaborate with development teams, and contribute to CI/CD processes to deliver robust software solutions in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Mid-Level: 5+ years in software testing, with at least 3 years in test automation.
• Senior-Level: 8+ years in software quality assurance and automation testing.
• Hands-on experience with automation tools such as Selenium, Appium, Playwright, Cypress, or similar frameworks.
• Experience testing both web and mobile applications (iOS and Android).
• Proficiency in one or more programming languages such as Java, JavaScript/TypeScript, Python, or C#.
• Experience with API testing tools and frameworks.
• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum development methodologies.
• Experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or similar

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, execute, and maintain automated test scripts for web and mobile applications using industry-standard automation tools and frameworks.
• Perform functional, regression, integration, API, end-to-end, and cross-platform testing to ensure application quality and stability.
• Create and maintain scalable test automation frameworks that support CI/CD pipelines.
• Review business requirements, technical specifications, and acceptance criteria to ensure comprehensive test coverage and quality compliance.
• Identify, document, track, and verify software defects while collaborating closely with developers and product teams to drive timely resolutions.
• Execute mobile testing across iOS and Android platforms, including device compatibility, usability, and performance validation.
• Develop and maintain automated API tests and validate backend services using tools such as Postman, Rest Assured, or equivalent frameworks.
• Analyze test results, quality metrics, and defect trends to provide actionable insights and recommendations for product improvement.
• Participate in troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and risk assessments for production issues and critical defects.
• Mentor junior QA team members, promote testing best practices, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across quality engineering processes.
