Job summary

Ascendion in the Philippines seeks a QA Automation Engineer to own Playwright-driven automation across web, mobile, and API layers. You will design modular test assets, implement model-based suites, and ensure reliable data variants with strong reporting.

Responsibilities include CI/CD integration (Azure DevOps/Jenkins), Jira/qTest traceability, regression coverage, and ongoing framework maintenance. Collaboration with BA/Dev/Env teams is essential for SIT/UAT success.

Qualifications

• Experience with Playwright-based automation across web, mobile and API layers.
• Ability to design modular, scalable test assets and data variants.
• Hands-on in CI/CD workflows with Azure DevOps/Jenkins and traceability via qTest/Jira.
• Experience in SIT/UAT, regression testing and defect triage.
• Strong reporting, diagnostics and collaboration with BA/Dev/Env teams.

Responsibilities

• Prepare clear reports and present status/risk/mitigations to project leadership.
• Own end-to-end Playwright automation: module design, test-case design, execution lists, and DEX.
• Build scalable model-based test suites across Mobile, Web, API, and DB validations.
• Stand up/maintain CI/CD integration and traceability tools.
• Contribute to regression automation coverage and release validation.
• Review and refactor existing assets for best practices, reusability, and performance.
• Collaborate during SIT/UAT, triage failures, provide actionable diagnostics.
• Design, develop and maintain automated test scripts using Playwright or Java.
• Maintain the automation framework and update scripts as applications evolve.
• Support and execute automated test suites during SIT/UAT and log defects.

Job description

• Prepare clear reports and present status/risk/mitigations to project leadership (when required).
• Be part of Playwright-based automation for enterprise programs (SIT/UAT/regression), with a strong focus on modular, maintainable assets and KPI/SLA-driven delivery
• Own end-to-end Playwright automation: Module design (TBox/XScan), TestCase Design (TCD templates & data variants), Execution Lists, and DEX (Distributed Execution).
• Build scalable model-based test suites across Mobile, Web, API (Playwright ), DB validations, and selected mobile flows.
• Stand up/maintain CI/CD integration (e.g., Azure DevOps/Jenkins) and qTest/Jira traceability for requirements-to-tests-to-defects.
• Contribute to regression automation coverage and release validation activities
• Review & refactor existing Playwright assets for best practices, reusability, and performance.
• Collaborate with BA/Dev/Env teams during SIT/UAT, triage failures, provide actionable diagnostics.
• Design, develop and maintain automated test scripts using Playwright or Java.
• Implement modular and reusable components aligned to automation standards.
• Maintain the automation framework and update the scripts as application evolves.
• Support and execution of automated test suites during SIT and UAT (where applicable).
• Analyze automation test results, log defects and collaborate with the team for resolution.
