Guided Outsourcing is seeking an Automation Engineer to design, build, and maintain workflow automations using n8n or Power Automate. You will implement integrations across core platforms (SharePoint/M365, PostgreSQL, HubSpot) and write supporting scripts in JavaScript/Node.js and Python.
Strong SQL skills and a focus on documentation are essential for seamless handover and ongoing improvements. Remote-friendly role with asynchronous collaboration, aligned to 8:00 AM–5:00 PM Eastern.
Automation. Design, build, and maintain workflow automations in n8n or Power Automate, including logic that needs real code — branching, error handling, and reliable trigger or polling design.
Integrations. Build and maintain connections between our core platforms — SharePoint/M365, PostgreSQL, HubSpot, and third-party APIs — working with REST APIs, webhooks, and JSON.
Development. Write and edit scripts and small tools in JavaScript/Node.js and Python to support automation work and solve problems a workflow platform can't handle on its own.
Data. Use SQL to query, extract, and transform data in support of automation and reporting needs.
Documentation & handover. Document how what you build works, clearly enough that someone else could run or maintain it without you in the room.
Process improvement. Analyze existing workflows for automation opportunities and help track the impact of what you deploy.
Working proficiency in n8n or Microsoft Power Automate — able to build real logic (branching, error handling), not just simple flows.
Working proficiency in JavaScript/Node.js and Python — able to read, write, and debug code independently.
Solid understanding of REST APIs and HTTP fundamentals: verbs, status codes, basic authentication (API keys, OAuth), webhooks, and JSON.
Working SQL skills for querying and transforming data.
Strong written communication — able to document a build clearly enough for someone else to follow.
Comfortable working independently offsite, including asynchronous collaboration with an on-site team.
Able to work 8:00 AM–5:00 PM Eastern.
Familiarity with Microsoft SharePoint/M365 (document libraries, permissions) and the Graph API.
Exposure to HubSpot or another CRM (Salesforce, Dynamics 365).
Experience with Power BI reporting or dashboards.
Familiarity with PostgreSQL specifically.
Exposure to Microsoft Azure (Functions, Logic Apps) or Microsoft Fabric.
Experience integrating LLM/AI APIs (Anthropic, OpenAI, Azure AI) into production workflows.
Experience with self-hosted automation environments (e.g., self-hosted n8n).
Prior experience working inside an enterprise Microsoft tenant with real permission or firewall constraints.
Competitive salary and performance-based incentives.
Complete PC package
Comprehensive benefits package, including health and life insurance.
Flexible work environment with the option to work remotely.
Opportunities for professional growth and development.
