Job summary

Datawords Philippines is seeking an Automation Engineer to join the Development Team across Manila and Cebu. You will develop and optimize web scraping and automation workflows using Python tools like Playwright, Selenium, BeautifulSoup, and Pandas, and build scalable scraping systems for retailer and product monitoring.

You will work with PHP backend and Vue/React frontends, ensuring data accuracy and production readiness.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering or related field.
• Experience in Selenium automation, Playwright and web scraping.
• Experience with responsive & e-commerce websites.
• Understanding of HTML, CSS and dynamic web elements.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple automation tasks independently.
• Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
• Experience leveraging AI-assisted automation technologies to improve efficiency.
• Hands-on experience with debugging in production environments.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and optimize web scraping and automation solutions using Python tools such as Playwright, Selenium, BeautifulSoup, and Pandas.
• Build scalable scraping systems for retailer and product monitoring with high data accuracy.
• Extract, validate, and monitor product data, including automated screenshot capture.
• Convert scripts into robust, production-ready applications.
• Design, integrate, and maintain APIs, webhooks, and third‑party services to support data workflows.
• Develop backend services using PHP and frontend interfaces using Vue.js/React.js.
