Automation Engineer

Office Location: Cebu Business Park, Kamputhaw, Cebu City, Cebu

Reporting to: Lead Developer

Individual contributor

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and optimize web scraping and automation solutions using Python tools such as Playwright, Selenium, BeautifulSoup, and Pandas.
• Build scalable scraping systems for retailer and product monitoring, ensuring high data accuracy, reliability, and coverage.
• Extract, validate, and monitor product and model data, including automated screenshot capturing across web pages.
• Convert scripts and prototypes into robust, production-ready applications.
• Design, integrate, and maintain APIs, webhooks, and third‑party services to support data workflows and system connectivity.
• Develop backend services using PHP and create responsive front‑end interfaces using Vue.js and React.js, styled with HTML5, SASS, Bootstrap, and Tailwind CSS.
• Support AI‑driven automation and contribute to workflow optimization initiatives.
• Troubleshoot issues, debug errors, and continuously improve system performance and scraping reliability.
• Document technical processes, automation workflows, and system changes for maintainability and knowledge sharing.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to enhance automation efficiency and deliver project requirements.
• Provide regular updates, including daily reports, and actively manage tasks using tracking and bug‑reporting tools (e.g., JIRA, Slack).
• Maintain and update internal trackers such as ticket statuses and project requirements.
• Participate in training, team meetings, and urgent discussions as required.
• Other related tasks as assigned.

Qualifications

• Graduate of Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering or related field.
• Experience in Selenium automation, Playwright and web scraping.
• Experience handling responsive & e-commerce websites.
• Knowledge of Python, PHP, JavaScript, or similar programming languages.
• Understanding of HTML, CSS and dynamic web elements.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple automation tasks independently.
• Basic knowledge of Microsoft Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Strong experience in automation development using Selenium, Python, PHP, and/or JavaScript, including web scraping and workflow automation solutions.
• Proven ability to analyze, optimize, and automate business processes, leveraging AI‑assisted automation technologies to improve efficiency and scalability.
• Hands‑on experience with computer vision, debugging, troubleshooting, and resolving complex technical challenges in production environments.
• Good communication skills.
• Team player with collaborative mindset.
• Detail‑oriented and proactive.
• Strong problem‑solving and analytical thinking.
• Adaptable and willing to learn new technologies.

Nice‑to‑Have

• Knowledge of issue tracking tools like JIRA.
• Experience with Google Apps Script or Google scripting.
• Familiarity with Computer Vision technologies and image‑based automation.
• Knowledge of OCR or image recognition tools is an advantage.
• Experience with AI‑assisted automation solutions.
• Basic knowledge in Looker Studio.
• Basic knowledge of content management systems.
• Familiarity with deployment workflows, version control (Git), and CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience handling large datasets and automation processes.

Work set‑up and working hours

• 10:00 AM - 7:00 PM PHT / 2:30pm - 11:30pm PHT Monday to Friday
