Job summary

INVT Electric in Mexico City seeks a senior VFD expert to lead technical solution design, product selection, and on-site commissioning of large VFD/VSD projects. You will translate customer needs into robust configurations and support project bidding with engineering input.

Requirements include a Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering, 5+ years with VFDs in major projects (oil & gas, mining, water treatment, HVAC), knowledge of ABB/Siemens brands, and fluency in Spanish and English.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years of experience with VFDs in large projects (oil & gas, mining, water treatment, HVAC).
• Experience selecting, commissioning, and interfacing with VFD brands.
• Knowledge of Mexican electrical standards and grid regulations.
• Fluent in Spanish and English; read technical documentation.
• Willing to travel frequently to project sites.

Responsibilities

Job description

Technical Solution Development: Responsible for the technical solution design, product selection, and configuration calculation of medium- and high-voltage variable speed drives (VSD/VFD) in project-based sales, providing technical support for project bidding.

Project Management Support: Act as the technical interface, supporting the entire project process from design and installation to commissioning. Conduct on-site surveys to ensure the VSD system meets customer process requirements.

Commissioning and Troubleshooting: Guide or execute software configuration, parameter optimization, and load commissioning of VSDs on project sites; respond quickly and resolve complex technical issues encountered during projects.

Customer Communication: Engage in in-depth technical communication with clients, clarify technical specifications, guide customer requirements, and enhance the competitiveness of solutions.

Job Requirements:

Educational Background: Bachelor's degree or above in Electrical Engineering, Automation, or related fields.

Work Experience: Over 5 years of experience related to variable frequency drives (VFD), with mandatory experience in large project applications (such as oil & gas, mining, water treatment, HVAC, etc.).

Professional Skills: Proficient in selection, commissioning, and communication protocols of mainstream VFD brands (e.g., ABB, Siemens, Schneider, Rockwell, etc.); familiar with local Mexican electrical standards and grid regulations.

Language Skills: Fluent in Spanish and English (required), able to read and understand technical documentation.

Soft Skills: Ability to independently solve problems, adapt to frequent business trips (project sites), and possess strong stress resistance and team collaboration spirit.

We need a senior VFD expert who can independently handle the technical implementation of large local projects in Mexico, knowledgeable in both technical solutions and on-site execution.
