Job summary

Boomering is seeking an Intermediate Tax Accountant to join a fully remote team. The role focuses on maintaining accurate records, payroll, and tax compliance for Australian clients while leveraging MYOB, Xero, and Excel in a virtual setting.

You will prepare financial statements and tax returns, conduct month/year-end closings, and explore advisory opportunities. A strong detail orientation and ability to work independently are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in accounting/finance.
• At least 3+ years of bookkeeping and accounting experience.
• Proficiency in MYOB, Xero, QuickBooks, Hubdoc, Excel, and Teams.
• Strong knowledge of Australian accounting principles and tax regulations.
• Excellent attention to detail and problem solving.
• Ability to work remotely with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Maintain financial records including accounts payable/receivable.
• Perform bank reconciliations and ensure data integrity.
• Process invoices, payments and expense claims.
• Manage payroll processing and regulatory compliance.
• Maintain general ledger accuracy and reporting obligations.
• Conduct month-end and year-end closings.
• Identify opportunities for advisory work.
• Assist in preparation of financial statements and reports.
• Prepare individual and entity tax returns.
• Ensure BAS, GST compliance and regulatory requirements.
• Contribute to process improvements and automation initiatives.

Position Title: Intermediate Tax Accountant

Work Set-up: Permanent Work From Home

Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 07:00 AM - 03:30 PM PHT

Salary Budget: Php 70,000.00 – 85,000.00

The business is a boutique rapidly growing accounting firm based on the Northern Beaches of Cairns. The firm has been in existence for less than 5 years but has grown revenue nearly 5 times during that period. The firm is full electronic and online with remote workers already in place. Due to the growth of the firm and its clients an opportunity presents itself for this new position. The clients are across a variety of industries and sizes and include construction, primary production, legal, retail and tourism.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• At least 3+ years of bookkeeping and accounting experience.
• Proficiency in MYOB, Xero, QuickBooks, Hubdoc, Excel, and Microsoft Teams.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Bookkeeping Duties

• Maintain accurate financial records, including accounts payable and receivable

• Assist in the preparation of entity tax returns
• Ensure compliance with tax obligations, including BAS, GST, and other regulatory requirements.
• Contribute to process improvements and automation initiatives.
