A leading logistics company is seeking an Assistant Operations Manager to oversee and optimize freight, logistics, and warehouse operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in logistics and supervisory experience, ensuring efficient delivery and customer satisfaction in a dynamic environment.
The Assistant Operations Manager plays a pivotal role in overseeing and optimizing the day-to-day freight, logistics, and warehouse operations of Boss Cargo Express Freight Services. With solid industry experience, this leader ensures the company delivers efficient, reliable, and customer-focused services.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Support the Operations Manager in leading overall freight forwarding, dispatch, and warehouse functions across multiple locations or hubs.
Supervise operational teams including drivers, warehouse staff, loaders, and dispatchers, ensuring alignment with company standards.
Oversee the scheduling, routing, and tracking of shipments to guarantee timely and accurate delivery.
Analyze logistics workflows and implement process improvements to enhance productivity and reduce operational costs.
Ensure adherence to safety standards, company SOPs, and regulatory compliance across all operations.
Collaborate with other departments (Customer Service, Finance, HR, etc.) to ensure operational coordination and service quality.
Lead inventory management practices including stock accuracy, warehouse layout efficiency, and cargo movement tracking.
Resolve complex issues involving shipment delays, client complaints, or equipment problems with speed and professionalism.
Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) such as delivery times, cargo accuracy, manpower productivity, and fuel efficiency.
Assist in training, mentoring, and performance evaluation of operations staff to foster continuous improvement and high morale.
Serve as the acting Operations Manager when needed and support in strategic planning initiatives.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor’s Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Business Administration, or any related field.
Minimum of 6+ years of proven experience in logistics, freight operations, or warehouse management, with at least 4 years in a supervisory or assistant manager role.
Strong understanding of logistics procedures, dispatch coordination, and cargo management.
Skilled in inventory systems, route planning, and operational analytics.
Leadership experience in managing diverse teams in a high-volume logistics environment.
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word) and logistics or ERP software.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and conflict-resolution skills.
PREFERRED TRAITS
Certification in logistics or supply chain management (e.g., LSP, Six Sigma) is an advantage.
Experience in inter-island shipping, last-mile delivery, or regional cargo distribution.
Strong problem-solving mindset with attention to detail and operational foresight.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Fast-paced logistics environment with both field and office duties.
Travel to different hubs, warehouses, or customer locations may be required.
