Job summary

HCM Nexus Consulting Inc. seeks a technically strong Assistant Manager in Audit Advisory & Technical Standards to support audit methodology, technical research, and policy development.

You will interpret auditing standards, support complex engagements, and help develop guidance, tools, and training materials. The ideal candidate has external audit experience, deep knowledge of ISA/IFRS, and an interest in audit quality and practice development.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accountancy or related field; CPA required.
• Minimum 5 years of external audit experience, including complex engagements or advisory roles.
• Strong knowledge of ISA, IFRS or local GAAP and audit methodology.
• Experience in technical research, policy writing, or audit advisory work is an advantage.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with ability to produce technical documentation.
• Strong attention to detail, analytical thinking, and ability to work independently and in a team.

Responsibilities

• Conduct technical research and guidance on auditing standards, accounting frameworks and regulatory updates.
• Support development, update and implementation of audit methodologies, tools and templates.
• Respond to queries from engagement teams on complex technical matters and audit execution issues.
• Assist in reviewing firm policies to ensure alignment with ISA, IFRS and local standards.
• Contribute to training materials and deliver methodology-related sessions.
• Monitor regulatory updates and implications for audit practice.
• Collaborate with audit teams, quality reviewers and leadership to promote standardization.

Job Summary:

We are seeking a technically strong and detail-oriented Assistant Manager Audit Advisory & Technical Standards to support audit methodology, technical research, and policy development. This role will be part of the professional practice group responsible for interpreting accounting and auditing standards, supporting complex audit engagements, and assisting in the development of guidance, tools, and training materials.

The ideal candidate brings experience in external audit, a strong grasp of evolving assurance standards, and an interest in audit quality, policy, and practice development.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct technical research and provide guidance on the application of auditing standards, accounting frameworks, and regulatory updates.
• Support the development, update, and implementation of audit methodologies, tools, templates, and practice aids.
