Southwestern University Medical Center is looking for a proactive Assistant GSD Head who can be a great partner on the efficient planning, use, monitoring, disposal and security of the company's assets. He also ensures that all staff and visitors are in an environment that is safe, clean, and organized.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Together with the General Services Head, oversees the following:

ADMINISTRATIVE

  • Manage and maintain records required during company and government audits such as but not limited to DOH and DOLE Facility Operating Licenses and permits and other facility auditing firms

  • Identify necessary knowledge and skill sets and strengthen knowledge and skill sets of GSD personnel

  • Evaluate and recommend appropriate trainings, seminars, and conventions

PHYSICAL ASSETS ADMINISTRATION

  • Manage, organize, secure and optimize all assets of the hospital in the day-to-day operations, as used by employees and students.

  • Ensures that all assets are maintained, in good working condition and are available when needed.

  • He is also responsible for the repair and/or replacement and disposal of said assets when needed.

INVENTORY MANAGEMENT

  • In coordination with the accounting department, ensures that all consumable items are managed through

  • Timely requests and purchasing

  • Correct receiving according to specifications

  • Correct inventory recording

  • Correct and safe storage

  • Sufficient inventory keeping, ensuring that supplies are always available

  • Timely distribution with accurate inventory

  • Coordinates with and informs relevant offices of the inventory and supplies that concerns their respective offices.

ENERGY MANAGEMENT

Manage the use and distribution of energy (electrical, solar, water). This includes monitoring to enable the hospital to control its use wisely and in accordance with government regulatory policies and the hospital’s policies and financial objectives.

HEALTH AND SAFETY

The GSD Head institutes policies and procedures to make sure that everyone in the hospital is safe and healthy. This may include regular safety drills, participating in national, regional and local disaster organizations, and company-wide programs.

SECURITY, PEACE AND ORDER

In line with the health and safety of everyone in the hospital, the GSD Head ensures that everyone is safe and secure at all times, including property and equipment. He also serves as the hospital’s Safety Officer in accordance with the DOLE Occupational Safety and Health Standards.

WASTE MANAGEMENT

The Asst. GSD Head is responsible for the collection, sorting, transportation, disposal and “minimizing” of waste in the hospital. This includes the recycling of assets such as wastewater and other recyclable materials. This is to ensure that the hospital maximizes all its assets while keeping an environment that is healthy and safe.

Job Qualifications:

  • Graduate of any BS Engineering course

  • Must be a Licensed Engineer (preferably Civil)

  • Must have at least 3 years work experience as Admin and Facility Head or Project Manager or at least 10 years of work experience in the related field

  • Knowledgeable on Quality Management System, Environmental Management system, Safety programs and Energy management system.

  • Professional certifications with medical or clinical background is a plus

  • Has strong leadership and management skills

  • Strong engineering and facilities management background

  • Good communication skills

  • Can work with minimum supervision
