Job summary

Open Energy Transition is a remote-first nonprofit accelerating open-source energy modelling adoption across Asia. We seek a Market Development Lead to build relationships with energy planning institutions, including system operators, ministries and regulators, and to translate opportunities into concrete projects.

You will combine regional energy sector insight with modelling credibility, engage with diverse audiences, and report insights to leadership while traveling regionally as needed.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of relevant experience in market development or consulting.
• Experience in energy sector roles (system operator, ministry, regulator, university or research organization).
• Strong English proficiency (mandatory).
• Ability to travel regionally and work in a distributed, remote team.

Responsibilities

• Build awareness and opportunities with energy planning institutions across priority Asian markets.
• Grow relationships with system operators, ministries, regulators, consultants, and research organizations.
• Provide technical credibility in energy system modelling concepts.
• Identify opportunities and turn conversations into funded projects or contracts.
• Report regional insights to senior leadership and cross-functional teams.
