Job summary

Aprio, a Top 20 CPA and advisory firm, is seeking a Senior Associate, Technical Accountant to join its Business Operations - Finance team in Makati. You will handle U.S. GAAP reporting and complex accounting topics for our global client base.

You will support audits, monthly and year-end consolidations, intercompany transactions, and policy documentation while collaborating with cross-functional teams. CPA preferred, 3–5 years of experience, and a commitment to growth in a fast-paced, globally

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
• CPA preferred; 3–5 years of progressive accounting/financial reporting experience.
• Strong U.S. GAAP and technical accounting background.
• Solid analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Effective communication skills and cross-functional collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Assist in preparing consolidated financial statements under U.S. GAAP.
• Support annual audit by providing workpapers and auditor responses.
• Assist monthly and year-end consolidation and intercompany analysis.
• Prepare reconciliations for balance sheet accounts and resolve discrepancies.
• Develop audit-ready reconciliation templates with the team.
• Interpret and apply ASC guidance (ASC 606/842/718/830/805) in practice.
• Document accounting policies and controls for compliance with U.S. GAAP.
• Support ad hoc accounting tasks and cross-functional projects.
• Identify process improvements to increase efficiency and scalability of operations.
• Collaborate with finance and cross-functional teams to gather information.

Position Responsibilities

• Assist in preparing consolidated financial statements and supporting footnote disclosures in accordance with U.S. GAAP, ensuring accurate, timely, and transparent reporting for internal and external stakeholders.
• Support the annual financial audit performed by the independent CPA firm by providing supporting workpapers and responding to auditor requests to help keep the audit on schedule.
• Support monthly and year-end consolidation activities through monitoring of intercompany transactions and balances and researching and clearing suspense account items, including consideration of foreign currency adjustments.
• Prepare monthly reconciliations for complex balance sheet accounts, research discrepancies, and escalating items to support timely resolution.
• Assist the Technical Accounting Manager in developing audit-ready reconciliation templates.
• Interpret business transactions and recommend accounting treatment.
• Research and apply technical accounting guidance on complex topics including Revenue (ASC 606), Leases (ASC 842), Stock-Based Compensation (ASC 718), Foreign Currency (ASC 830), and Business Combinations (ASC 805), and draft supporting technical accounting memos, if necessary.
• Help document accounting policies, processes, and procedures to support compliance with U.S. GAAP and regulatory requirements.
• Support ad hoc projects and other accounting tasks, as needed.
• Collaborate with the finance team and cross-functional teams to gather information, answer questions, and support day-to-day accounting operations.
• Identify and recommend process improvements to help increase the efficiency, accuracy, and scalability of accounting operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field; CPA is preferred.
• 3 – 5 years of experience of progressive accounting and financial reporting roles. Audit experience is preferred.
• Solid U.S. GAAP and technical accounting background, including working knowledge in financial reporting, audit, and internal controls.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Effective communication skills and the ability to work with cross-functional teams.
