Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electronics or Electrical Engineering required.
• 2 years of experience as a Power Supply Design Engineer or in related areas (power converters, PSU, inverters).
• Experience designing power electronic circuitry for industrial or consumer equipment.

Responsibilities

• Researches and defines switching mode power supply topologies for PI products.
• Helps develop algorithms to optimize power supplies and supports PI Expert Software Suite.
• Assists in new product development and research of new applications for PI IC products.
• Designs switching power supply units using PI products for design documentation or customer requirements.
• Evaluates switching power supplies built with PI products.
• Provides design support and technical advice to customers worldwide.
• Writes technical application materials for publication and presentations at conferences.

Job Summary

As an applications engineer, you will be responsible for switching power supply systems development and design engineering.

Specific Responsibilities

• Researches and defines switching mode power supply topologies based on the specialties of the company's products
• Helps develop algorithms to automatically optimize power supplies using PI’s products and assist in developing the PI Expert Software Suite
• Assists in new product development and research new applications for both new and older generations of Power Integrations’ IC products
• Designs and develops switching power supply units (psu) using the company's products for design documentation/training material or customer requirements
• Evaluates switching power supplies built with the company’s products
• Provides switching power supply design support and technical advice to the company's customers worldwide
• Researches and write technical application materials for publication and presentation at technical conferences, industry seminars, trade magazines and data books
• Other duties as assigned

Background desired

• Bachelor's Degree in Electronics Engineering or Electrical Engineering
• 2 years of experience as Power Supply Design Engineer or design experience in any of the following areas:
  • power converters/conversion/management
  • switching/switch mode power supply units (psu)
  • inverters
  • power electronics design equipment
  • analog electronics design
  • control loop design
  • power magnetics design (transformer, chokes or inductors)
• Experience designing power electronic circuitry for industrial electronic equipment or consumer devices
