Job summary

SGS is seeking an Application Solution Engineer to align end‑to‑end process design for Corp IT applications. You will serve as a top-level techno‑functional expert, guiding high‑level specifications and mapping business requirements to feasible technical solutions.

You will oversee standardized fit‑for‑purpose software designs, ensure development activities comply with SGS standards, and review estimates and workloads across development phases with the enterprise architecture and security teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and/or master’s with relevant IT or Computer science background.
• 5+ years of experience managing requirements through the full delivery and operational life cycle.
• 5+ years of extensive knowledge of Oracle eBusiness Suite development tools and related stack.
• Experience in Oracle eBusiness Suite Financials modules and Supply Chain & Manufacturing is a plus.
• Experience in Oracle ERP Cloud rollout, integrations and extensions is an added value.

Responsibilities

• ProvideGlobal Solution Design leadership in the assigned processes.
• Review techno-functional documents, frameworks and strategies to meet business requirements.
• Review data models and processes to optimize architecture and evaluate performance and reliability.
• Collaborate with requirements creation, use cases and models mapping business strategy to needs.
• Consult with Global Process Owners and IT representatives to align requirements with strategic direction.
• Collaborate with implementation teams with other architects to fulfill requirements.
• Know reference standards and best practices defined by Enterprise Architecture and Security SGS departments.
• Validate and enrich technical impact assessments.
• Develop and/or validate technical design for all application development activities.
• Ensure developments meet technical and operations requirements (security, availability, maintainability, performance).

Job Description

The Application Solution Engineer is responsible for end to end process design alignment within SGS for our Corp IT applications. Serving as the top-level techno-functional expert by helping the business on high-level specifications creation and anticipating problems of systems functionality, providing guidance and advisory regarding business requirements mappings.

The ASE plays a key role in ensuring standardized fit for purpose solutions within SGS for our Corp IT applications. Overseeing that the software development activities are carried out in accordance with SGS and best practice market standards. Executes the review of the application development activities and ensures that the related deliverables follow the appropriate quality, architecture and security rules and guidelines, overseeing the overall quality and fitness of the final products.

The ASE is responsible for providing effort estimates, validating 3rd party estimates and overseeing the activities of the development estimation process, validating and the required workload for the different phases of developments.

With your technical expertise and following market best practices, you will ensure that the technical designs of software developments are up to market & SGS standards, whether done internally or by a third party, working closely with the enterprise architecture department at SGS.

Responsibilities

• Review techno-functional documents, frameworks and strategies to meet the business and application requirements.
• Review data models and processes, working proactively with rest of the teams, in order to optimize architecture and to evaluate the performance and reliability of designs.
• Collaborate with requirements creation, use cases and models that map business strategy and needs.
• Consultwith Global Process Owners, Business leaders and IT business representatives to ensure understanding of requirements and their alignment to future strategic direction of the business/function.
• Proactively collaborates with implementation teams in coordination with other architects on the setup of processes to fulfil the agreed requirements.
• Know in detail the reference standards & best practices defined by Enterprise Architecture and Security SGS departments, to ensure technical design quality and vulnerability compliance.
• Validate and enrich technical impact assessments.
• Develop and/or validate technical design for all application development activities.
• Ensures developments meet both the technical requirements as well as the operations requirements (such as security, availability, maintainability, and performance), for custom developed applications as well as standard package-based solutions and legacy applications

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and/or master’s with relevant IT or Computer science background.
• Relevant experience managing requirements through the entire delivery and operational life cycle.
• Must have 5+ years of extensive knowledge of Oracle eBusiness Suite (on-prem) development tools and technical stack are a must (Oracle PL/SQL, APEX, Oracle Forms, Oracle Reports, Oracle BI Publisher, Oracle Applications Framework, Web ADI, Open Interfaces, Oracle XML Gateway, Integrated SOA Gateway and Oracle Workflow).
• Experience in Oracle eBusiness Suite Financials modules and Supply Chain & Manufacturing is a plus
• Experience in Oracle ERP Cloud rollout, integrations and extensions is certainly an added value
