Job summary

Honeywell Technologies is a global automation leader seeking an Experienced Advanced Project Engineer to drive complex refinery and petrochemical projects. You will coordinate cross-functional teams to ensure on-time delivery, adherence to scope, and high-quality outcomes across APC/Plant-wide Optimizer initiatives.

You will review controller configurations, perform studies and training, and support sales and customers in applying APC technologies.

Qualifications

• 8+ years experience in refining/petrochemical MMM industry.
• Background in Chemical Engineering principles and operations.
• Knowledge of regulatory and advanced process control.
• Experience with APC/Plant wide Optimizer and DCS systems.
• Strong written and verbal communication; customer interaction skills.

Responsibilities

• Execute APC/Plant wide Optimizer projects from kickoff to postaudit.
• Lead consultants/engineers on APC/control performance initiatives.
• Perform studies and proof of concepts; provide user training.
• Review economic targets; adjust controllers to meet objectives.
• Modify controller configurations; add/remove variables as needed.
• Identify faulty regulatory loops; tune distributed controllers.
• Lead cross-functional teams to resolve APC/PO issues.
• Support Sales/Marketing to grow APC licenses and services.
• Train junior personnel and ensure project knowledge transfer.

As an Advanced Project Engr here at Honeywell, you will play a vital role in managing and executing complex engineering projects that drive innovation and operational excellence. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and meet quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Execute Advanced Process Control/Plant wide Optimizer projects including assessment, kick-off, pre-test, plant test, design, modeling, configuration, installation, commissioning, and postaudit.
• Implement RMPCT Advanced Process Control/Plant wide Optimizer/Control Performance Monitor technologies as Lead Consultant/Engineer
• Perform/Participate in Advanced Process Control/Plant wide Optimizer studies, proof of concepts/trial evaluation and provide user training.
• Review the economic targets for the Advanced Process Controllers, suggest and incorporate necessary changes, to provide the right direction to the controllers. This may be required to incorporate the new economic indicators, if any, and make the controller to constantly work towards the current economic objectives.
• Identify, advise, and incorporate modifications to the controller configuration, in terms of proposing addition of new variables/ constraints, deletion of the redundant variables, wherever found necessary.
• Identify faulty regulatory control loops in the system (DCS level) and carryout tuning of existing regulatory controller at Distributed control systems.
• Lead cross function teams such as the Customer Support and R&D to resolve Advanced Process Control/Plant wide Optimizer issues.
• Support Sales and Marketing to grow Advanced Process Control/Plant wide Optimizer licenses and services business.
• Support and train junior personnel

Qualifications

YOU MUST HAVE

• Has a at least 8+ years of experience in refining/petrochemical, MMM industry.
• Has a background in Chemical Engineering principles and operations.
• Knowledge of regulatory control and advanced control.
• Understands optimization principles. Experience in implementing global optimization programs is advantages.
• Good communication and writing skills.
• Knowledge of Advanced Process Control/Plant wide Optimizer, DCS and real-time database technologies.
• Good team player. Strong ability to maintain good working relationship with customers.

WE VALUE

• Demonstrated project experience implementing commercial off-the-shelf software for APC such as DMC3/DMC Plus, SMOC, PACE, ROMeo.
• Experience in deploying APC or maintenance management strategies in an operating company.
• Candidates having experience in plant operations.
• Experience in plant startup & commissioning
• Configuration experience working on control systems, DCS / PLC / Safety Systems.
• Advanced post graduate degree in a technical discipline.
