Job summary

GCash, the leading FinTech in the Philippines, seeks a seasoned software engineering leader for its Technology & Operations team. You will own the vision and roadmap for App Modernization and Governance, guiding modernization efforts from legacy systems to scalable cloud-native architectures.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of experience in software engineering, mobile development, or cloud-native architectures.
• Experience modernizing mobile applications (Flutter, Kotlin, Swift, or React Native).
• Strong knowledge of microservices, API gateways, containerization, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and related services.
• Understanding of app security, compliance frameworks (PCI-DSS, GDPR), and DevSecOps.

You Will Be Responsible For The Following

• Product Ownership & Strategy - Defining the vision, strategy, and roadmap for GCash App Modernization & Governance. Aligning modernization efforts with business goals, customer experience improvements, and technology advancements.
• App Modernization & Technical Leadership - Leading the transition from legacy architectures to modern, scalable, and resilient solutions.
• App Governance & Compliance - Defining and enforcing app governance policies, ensuring compliance with industry standards and security frameworks.
• Collaboration & Stakeholder Management - Working closely with engineering teams, QA, DevOps, and business units to ensure smooth execution of modernization initiatives.
• Communicating complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders, ensuring alignment on priorities and business impact.

We’re Looking For

• 12+ years of experience in software engineering, mobile development, or cloud-native architectures.
• Proven experience in modernizing mobile applications (preferably Flutter, Kotlin, Swift, or React Native).
• Strong knowledge of microservices, API gateways, containerization (Kubernetes, Docker), and CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience in cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and related services.
• Understanding of app security best practices, compliance frameworks (PCI-DSS, GDPR), and DevSecOps principles. Familiarity with observability tools (Datadog, New Relic, Prometheus, Grafana, etc.).
