Job summary

Barbizon Everyday Group of Companies is seeking a Creative Associate – Merchandising (Designer / Merchandiser) to develop apparel products from concept to production in a fast-paced environment. You will balance design, cost, and market needs while coordinating with suppliers and internal teams.

The ideal candidate has 1–2 years in garment/apparel and a solid grasp of garment construction, fabrics, and fit, with proficiency in Illustrator and Excel.

Qualifications

• Bachelor-level or higher in Clothing Technology, Fashion Design, Merchandising, or related field.
• 1–2 years of garment/apparel industry experience; design/merchandising experience is a plus.
• Strong understanding of garment construction, fabrics, and fit.
• Knowledge of costing, sampling, and production processes.
• Excellent communication and coordination skills; able to negotiate effectively.
• Detail-oriented, organized, and able to manage multiple projects.

Responsibilities

• Create apparel designs, colorways, trims, and graphics aligned with brand direction.
• Prepare design sketches, tech packs, spec sheets, and artwork for production.
• Review samples (proto, fit, pre-production, and production) and provide clear revision feedback.
• Conduct fittings and recommend improvements on fit, construction, and materials.
• Develop product assortments based on market trends, target customers, and pricing strategy.
• Ensure designs meet target cost, margin, and retail price requirements.
• Analyze sales data, trends, and customer feedback to refine product direction.
• Communicate with suppliers regarding sampling, materials, costing, and timelines.
• Track sample progress, production schedules, and shipment timelines.
• Coordinate with merchandising, planning, marketing, operations, and sales teams.
