Through the easy-to-use mobile app, users can buy and sell a variety of different cryptocurrencies and access a wide range of financial services. Coins is fully regulated by the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) and is the first ever crypto-based company in Asia to hold both Virtual Currency and Electronic Money Issuer licenses from a central bank.

Role: App Development Senior Manager. You will lead the company’s app development business, formulating the app development strategy, technical roadmap, and work plans aligned with business goals and regulatory requirements. You will oversee the entire lifecycle of app development and ensure the app is stable, efficient, secure, and compliant.

Key Responsibilities

• App Development Strategy & Technical Planning: Formulate the app development strategy, technical roadmap, and development plans aligned with business needs and industry trends.
• Determine the app technical architecture, development framework, and technology stack (iOS: Swift, Android: Kotlin/Java, cross-platform: Flutter/React Native); optimize architecture for scalability, maintainability, and security.
• Research and introduce advanced technologies and methodologies to improve efficiency and product quality.
• Coordinate with product teams to convert business needs into technical solutions and detailed schedules.
• Full Lifecycle App Development Management: Oversee demand review, technical design, coding, testing (unit/integration/UAT), and launch to ensure timely delivery and quality.
• Supervise core app functions (digital currency trading interface, order execution, fund management, user authentication, messaging, security encryption) to meet business and regulatory standards.
• Manage app iteration and maintenance, collect user feedback, fix bugs, and optimize performance and user experience.
• Coordinate with QA to formulate test plans and standards, supervise testing, and reduce online risks prior to launch.
• Manage app release and updates across major stores (App Store, Huawei AppGallery, Xiaomi App Store, etc.).
• App Security & Compliance: Establish security standards, ensure data security, user privacy, and digital asset security; conduct regular security audits and vulnerability scans; address risks proactively.
• Ensure compliance with global regulatory requirements (FATF, MiCA, local regulations) and app store rules; collaborate with compliance and risk teams for reviews and filings.
• Team Management & Development: Build and develop the app team, set OKRs, performance standards, and training plans; nurture talent and maintain a collaborative environment.
• Cross-departmental Collaboration & Technical Support: Align with product, trading, compliance, risk, and operations; support other departments with app-related needs and external partnerships.
• Project & Budget Management: Plan projects, control progress, cost, and quality; manage risks; prepare budgets and optimize resource use; track and review performance.

Requirements

• Experience: 7+ years in mobile app development and management, including 3+ years in team leadership; ideally fintech, digital currency, payment, or internet financial services.
• Professional Expertise:
  • Proficient in mobile app development technologies; familiar with iOS (Swift), Android (Kotlin/Java), or cross-platform (Flutter/React Native).
  • Experience in app architecture design, performance optimization, security, and interface integration; able to solve complex technical problems.
  • Familiar with app store release processes and compliance requirements; experience in major app stores.
  • Knowledge of digital currency exchange business (spot/derivatives, fund flows); ability to translate business needs into technical solutions.
  • Proficient in agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban); comfortable with project tools (Jira, Trello) and code management (Git, SVN).
• Leadership & Management: Strong leadership and team management; ability to build and lead a high-performance team; effective at work organization and decision-making.
• Technical Research & Innovation: Strong technical curiosity to stay current with industry trends and drive innovation.
• Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication in Chinese and English; able to collaborate cross-functionally.
• Education: Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Software Engineering, IT, or related; professional certifications (PMP, CKAD, CKA) preferred.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with app development management in compliant digital currency exchanges; familiarity with trading app development and compliance requirements.
• Experience leading cross-platform development (Flutter/React Native) with performance and security enhancements.
• Experience handling security incidents and regulatory reviews; adept at solving app security and compliance problems.
• Familiarity with blockchain concepts and digital assets; ability to optimize app functions and UX through technical iterations.
