Job summary

Capgemini in Manila is seeking an Enterprise API Architect to define and own the API strategy across digital and open banking initiatives. You will lead API design, governance, and lifecycle oversight for scalable, secure RESTful services and microservices.

You will collaborate with product and delivery teams to shape contracts, documentation, and standards, guiding engineering and DevSecOps practices to ensure high-quality, reusable APIs for global financial clients.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with Java and Spring Boot in enterprise-scale API architectures.
• Strong knowledge of RESTful design, microservices, and API governance.
• Experience with JSON-based data exchange and web technologies.
• Proficiency in CI/CD tooling and DevOps practices across the API lifecycle.

Responsibilities

• Define and own the enterprise API architecture including reference architectures, integration patterns, and standards for banking digital and open banking initiatives.
• Lead API design and domain modeling using RESTful principles and microservices patterns.
• Establish and govern API design standards, security models, nonfunctional requirements, performance, resilience, and observability.
• Collaborate with business, product, and delivery teams to translate capabilities into well-defined APIs with contracts and documentation.
• Provide architectural oversight across the API lifecycle and conduct design reviews and architecture assurance.
• Guide engineering teams on API platform usage, DevSecOps integration, and deployment patterns to ensure consistent delivery.
• Drive API governance, catalog management, and reuse to improve discoverability and reduce duplication.
