Job summary

Capgemini, a global technology leader, seeks an API Architect in Metro Manila to define the enterprise API architecture and governance across banking digital initiatives. You will lead API design, domain modeling, and standards, aligning with scalable, reusable patterns while collaborating with business, product and delivery teams to deliver high-quality APIs with clear contracts.

• Hands-on experience with Java, Spring Boot, and React.
• Experience with SOAP, REST, microservices, and JSON.
• CI/CD and cloud platforms knowledge.
• Strong API design and documentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Define and own enterprise API architecture including reference architectures integration patterns and standards aligned to banking digital and open banking initiatives.
• Lead API design and domain modeling using RESTful principles, microservices patterns and industry frameworks e.g; BIAN ensuring scalability and reusability.
• Establish and govern API design standards, security models and nonfunctional requirements, performance, resilience, observability, compliance.
• Collaborate with business, product and delivery teams to translate business capabilities into well-defined APIs with clear contracts and documentation.
• Provide architectural oversight across the API lifecycle ensuring conformance to standards through design reviews and architecture assurance.
• Guide engineering teams on API platform usage, DevSecOps integration and deployment patterns to ensure consistent and high quality delivery.
• Drive API governance, catalogue management and reuse improving discoverability, reducing duplication and lowering technical debt across the bank.

Your Role

• Define and own the enterprise API architecture including reference architectures integration patterns and standards aligned to banking digital and open banking initiatives
• Lead API design and domain modeling using RESTful principles microservices patterns and industry frameworks e.g; BIAN ensuring scalability and reusability

Your Profile

• Hands-on experience of Java, Spring Boot, React, API technology, Programming in Java/ Java GUI, XML/ XSLT, HTML/ Java Script
• Web applications servers (Apache HTTP Server & Tomcat, IIS, Websphere)
• End to end agile infrastructure architecture across all layers
• Service architecture - Experience of API and service-based architectures using SOAP, REST APIs, micro-services and utilizing JSON for web or mobile applications
• Enterprise scale distributed NoSQL solutions including MongoDB, in-memory databases and caching solutions adopted for globally distributed Digital solutions
• Experience in CI/CD - tools such as Confluence, Jira, Jenkins, Git, GitHub, Stash, SonarQube, Performance center
• Knowledgeable in Cloud - PaaS/IaaS/SaaS – Pivotal Cloud Foundry, AWS, Azure
• Methods and delivery: DevOps processes and experience. Strong understanding of lean and agile methods of software delivery including Scrum, Kanban, Lean UX, XP
• Has experience in high availability and contingency solutions
