Job summary

Project Management Institute seeks a Community Development Specialist to support planning, coordination, and delivery of priority community initiatives across the Asia Pacific region. The role focuses on enabling effective execution across student, CIP-aligned, and specialized community initiatives, while building toward deeper program ownership over time.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Education, or related field.
• 3–5 years in community management, engagement, development, or related role.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in project management and organizational tools is a plus.
• Experience coordinating multi-stakeholder initiatives with competing timelines and dependencies.
• Experience with student or early-career audiences is a plus.
• Ability to work independently and in a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and priorities.
• Strong ownership and ability to bring structure to ambiguous initiatives.
• Event/association management experience is a plus.
• Experience building broad relationship/account management and learning programs.
• Fluent English; additional Southeast Asian languages assets.
• Travel 10-15%+.

Responsibilities

• Support planning, coordination, and delivery of priority community initiatives across APAC.
• Enable effective execution across student, CIP-aligned, and specialized community initiatives.
• Build program ownership over time.
• Identify delivery gaps, risks, and opportunities, and advise regional leadership.
• Progressively take on greater ownership of defined programs or initiatives.
• Support additional time-bound or ad hoc initiatives as assigned by regional leadership.
