Job summary

BCS Information Technology Corp. is seeking an experienced Android Mobile Application Developer to build and enhance Android apps using Kotlin within an MVVM framework. You will work in a small, collaborative team with remote partners, focusing on delivering robust features and code quality.

You will lead testing, code maintenance, and integration of third-party libraries, while ensuring deployment readiness and ongoing improvements to the user experience and performance.

Qualifications

• Experience with Kotlin language and Android Standard Library.
• Experience with MVC/MVVM architecture.
• Experience with unit testing.
• Experience with Android Studio, Editor Layout, and programmatic UI.
• Experience with Gradle.
• Experience with Git Flow and Agile methodology.
• Experience with Agile development (e.g. SCRUM, Lean Start-up).
• Ability to handle Google Developer account, Google Play Store Console and create builds for submission to Play Store.
• Basic understanding in Big O notation and their respective time-space complexity.
• Excellent analytical skills with a good problem-solving attitude.

Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver Android applications and features using Kotlin and MVVM architecture design pattern.

• Maintain quality of current code base through unit testing and assist in regression testing.
• Troubleshoot and resolve pre- and post-production issues such as providing hotfixes whenever bugs are discovered.
• Maintain technical documentations of Android development.
• Maintain integrity of current git flow of current git repos.
• Assist and advise on UI/UX design capabilities and improvements, feasibility of new functionalities through capabilities of current Android technology.
• Participate in Sprint meetings such as planning and review meetings.
• Keep abreast of the latest in mobile technology and conduct research and prototyping using such technologies.

About the role

As an Android Mobile Application Developer, you will be responsible for developing and delivering Android applications and features using Kotlin and MVVM architecture design pattern. This is a hands‑on software development position in which you will be a senior developer working in a small team and collaborating with remote teams. The ideal candidate is flexible, self‑motivated, a great collaborator and works effectively with all disciplines of the team.
