Job summary

GHD is seeking an Analytics Engineer for the IS Data & Analytics Team to transform and model data, ensure quality, and enable stakeholders with reliable insights. The role focuses on building robust data pipelines, modelling semi-structured data, and delivering actionable analytics using Microsoft Fabric, dbt, and Power BI.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in CS/IS/Data Analytics or related field.
• 3–5 years in analytics engineering, data engineering, or BI/data warehouse work.
• Strong SQL and data modelling skills (star schemas, fact/dimension, slowly changing dimensions).
• Hands-on Microsoft Fabric or similar tools (Databricks, Synapse, Snowflake) with dbt.
• Semantic models & DAX for Power BI.
• Software engineering practices: Git, peer review, CI/CD, modular code.
• Translating business needs into clear metrics, data contracts, and scalable analytics solutions.
• Clear written and spoken communication with technical and business stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain data models and Power BI semantic models across bronze, silver, and gold layers in Microsoft Fabric using SQL (dbt) and notebooks.
• Write tests to check data quality and integrity, and fix data problems.
• Collaborate with data scientists, data analysts, and business analysts to transform raw data into actionable insights.
• Take part in code reviews and improve engineering standards and practices.
• Optimize performance to support scalable, reliable data pipelines.
