Job summary

Northern Trust in Manila is seeking an Associate Consultant for AML investigations within its Global AML Compliance function. The role focuses on initial investigation of unusual activity alerts, applying AML expertise, and guiding junior staff in a tightly regulated environment.

The position requires 5–7 years of experience, a college degree, strong communication, and the ability to work in a team with minimal supervision.

Qualifications

• 5-7 years of relevant work experience.
• College or University degree required.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Functional / Industry Knowledge required.
• Analytical and problem solving skills expected.
• Able to work as part of a team with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Supports the team manager in ensuring operational efficiency.
• Provides day-to-day guidance to junior team members and distributes workflow.
• Identify, document and disseminate new AML procedures and controls.
• Carry out complex activities with regulatory compliance impact.
• May interact with committees and senior management.
• Mentor to junior staff and provide subject-matter guidance.
• Review client files for conformance with AML policies and regulatory requirements.
• Support and provide knowledge as it relates to AML laws and standards.
• Escalate regulatory compliance risks to Global AML management.
• Perform continuous monitoring of customers’ transactions and investigate Adverse Media and PEP alerts.
• Participate in all applicable training.
• Contribute to process changes for greater efficiency.
• Liaise with front office and auditors as needed.
