Job summary

Boston Medical Center is seeking a Clinically Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) to join the ambulatory care team. Under supervision of a licensed practitioner, the CMA performs patient intake, specimen collection, point-of-care testing, vaccine administration, and assistance with procedures to ensure safe, efficient care.

The role emphasizes clinical and administrative duties, accurate documentation, immunization records, and collaboration across the clinic to maintain patient flow and quality

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited medical assistant training program or an Associate Degree in Medical Assisting.
• Current CMA, NRCMA or CCMA certification.
• Ability to document patient information accurately and follow supervision.

Responsibilities

• Obtains and documents patient information (age, weight, address, pharmacy).
• Assists clinical staff during procedures and exams.
• Administers vaccines under clinical protocols and supervision.
• Maintains immunization records and updates the EHR.
• Schedules patient appointments and transports patients as needed.
• Performs clerical tasks to promote clinic operations.
• Adheres to infection control and safety policies.
