Olson Defendorf Custom Homes is seeking an AI Video Creator & Editor to produce polished promotional and tutorial videos for our construction software. The role involves AI presenters, screen recordings, and animations, turning ideas into finished videos without micromanagement.

You will help build a training library and adapt content for different formats, collaborating with the owner to shape how the software is presented to customers.

Qualifications

Schedule: Part-Time

Turn Software Into Videos People Actually Want to Watch.

Olson Defendorf Custom Homes is a boutique luxury custom home builder in Austin, Texas. Alongside our custom home business, we have developed our own construction project management software designed around the way builders actually work.

Now we need someone who can help us show people what it can do.

We're looking for an AI Video Creator & Editor who can create polished promotional videos, AI-presenter videos, animated content, product demonstrations, and step-by-step software tutorials.

This is not primarily a social media position, and it is not a role for someone who is just beginning to experiment with AI video tools.

We need someone who already knows how to take an idea, script, screen recording, or rough direction and turn it into a professional finished video without needing every step mapped out for them.

The immediate focus will be creating promotional content that demonstrates the software and explains its value. Over time, you'll also help us build a complete library of training and tutorial videos showing customers how to use different parts of the platform.

Key responsibilities:

• Create polished promotional videos for our construction project management software
• Produce AI-presenter and avatar-based videos using tools such as Synthesia or similar platforms
• Combine AI presenters, animation, graphics, text, screen recordings, and software demonstrations into cohesive finished videos
• Edit screen recordings that show the software being used in real-world situations
• Create clear, professional product demonstrations that explain what the software does and why it matters
• Develop step-by-step tutorial videos covering different features of the platform
• Build an organized library of training content as the software continues to develop
• Turn rough concepts, talking points, scripts, or demonstrations into complete videos
• Add professional transitions, captions, callouts, graphics, branding, and other visual elements where appropriate
• Help determine the best format and presentation style for different types of videos
• Keep videos polished, modern, easy to understand, and consistent in style
• Work independently, ask good questions when necessary, and keep projects moving without constant follow-up

What You'll Create

Some projects will be promotional, showing prospective users what the software can do and why it is useful.

For example, a video might begin with an AI presenter introducing a feature, transition into a screen recording showing the feature being used, and then return to the presenter to summarize the benefit.

Other projects will be educational and instructional.

Over time, we want to build a library of tutorials covering topics such as:

• Creating and setting up a new project
• Entering and managing change orders
• Managing selections
• Navigating different areas of the software
• Completing common project-management workflows
• Understanding new features as they are released

The company owner can provide product knowledge, ideas, and screen demonstrations. You will turn that raw material into the finished product.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience creating AI-generated, animated, promotional, or tutorial videos
• Strong experience with AI video platforms such as Synthesia or comparable tools
• Experience editing screen recordings and software/product demonstrations
• Strong video editing skills and a good eye for pacing, layout, typography, transitions, and visual presentation
• Comfortable combining multiple content types into one finished video, including AI presenters, screen recordings, animation, graphics, captions, and voiceover
• Able to take broad direction and turn it into a finished deliverable without requiring detailed instructions at every stage
• Strong written English and the ability to present technical information clearly and simply
• Organized, responsive, and dependable
• Comfortable learning how a software product works well enough to explain it to other people
• Strong attention to detail and quality
• Portfolio or examples of previous AI video, promotional video, or software tutorial work strongly preferred

We don't need someone who says, "I can probably learn how to do that."

We're looking for someone who has already done this type of work and can show us examples.

You should be comfortable receiving an idea such as, "We need a video showing builders how this feature works," figuring out an effective way to present it, and coming back with a polished result.

We value initiative. If there is a better way to structure a video, explain a feature, use an AI tool, or improve the presentation, we want you to tell us.
