Job summary

Star Union Dai-ichi Life Insurance is hiring a Data Scientist - Data & AI to lead AI/ML initiatives, guide a high-performing team, and drive the end-to-end lifecycle of AI projects from concept to production. You will design models for underwriting, claims, and customer engagement while exploring Generative AI to enhance product development and risk assessment.

The role requires strong leadership, deep technical expertise in Python/R/Java, and cloud experience across Azure, AWS, or GCP, with a

Qualifications

Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Machine Learning, or related field.
Minimum 4 years in AI/ML, including at least 2 years in a leadership role.
Proficiency in Python, R, or Java; experience with TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit-learn.
Cloud experience with Azure, AWS, or GCP.
Strong understanding of insurance domain and end-to-end AI/ML project management.
Ability to communicate complex concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities

Lead, mentor, and manage a team of AI/ML engineers and data scientists, fostering a high-performance culture.
Develop and implement AI/ML strategies aligned with business goals.
Design, develop, and deploy AI/ML models for underwriting, claims processing, fraud detection, customer service, and personalized marketing.
Explore and implement Generative AI techniques for product development, risk assessment, and customer engagement.
Oversee data collection, preprocessing, and analysis to ensure quality and integrity.
Work with cross-functional teams for seamless integration and adoption, driving POC-to-production transitions.
