Job summary

ITJ, a binational US-Mexican company, builds AI-enabled software centers in Latin America, with a focus on BioMedTech. We are seeking a Sr AI Engineer to lead AI/ML initiatives, building AI agents, chatflows, and automation workflows using LLM tooling.

You will work with OpenAI APIs, LangChain, and vector databases, design robust interfaces, and implement end-to-end AI solutions in cross-border collaboration with our US and Mexican teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field.
• At least 4 years of experience in software or AI/ML engineering.
• Hands-on experience building AI/LLM-based applications.
• Experience with AI agents, chatflows, or automation workflows.
• Experience with RAG pipelines and vector databases.

Responsibilities

• Lead AI/ML initiatives and build AI agents, chatflows, and automation workflows.
• Design, implement, and test AI-powered applications using LLM tooling.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams across borders to deliver AI solutions.

Job description

We partner with fast-growing, high-impact industries, particularly in the BioMedTech sector. This means we work directly with innovative medical device companies in the US that are developing technology to improve and save lives

We are looking for a Sr AI Engineer

Education & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field
• At least4 years of experience in software engineering or AI/ML engineering (flexible based on capability)
• Hands-on experience building AI/LLM-based applications

Technical Skills

• Frameworks & Tools:
• LLM tooling: OpenAI APIs, LangChain/LangGraph, Flowise (or similar)
• Frontend (nice to have): React
• Data & AI:
• Pandas, NumPy, basic ML concepts
• Experience with RAG pipelines and vector databases
• Git/GitHub
• API design and integration
• Containerization (Docker preferred)

AI-Specific Experience

• Experience building AI agents, chatflows, or automation workflows
• Familiarity with evaluation frameworks and testing methodologies
• Understanding of prompt engineering and LLM behavior
