Job summary

BMW TechWorks India Private Limited in the Philippines seeks an experienced embedded software engineer to design and develop software for autonomous driving. You will define and coordinate new features to the system architecture and implement them, testing in simulation, hardware, and on the vehicle.

You will work with a modern toolchain (C++11/14/17, Rust, Python) and CI systems, and help improve performance, quality, security and safety across the stack.

Job description

• You will work at the forefront of technology to design and develop cutting-edge software solutions in the Autonomous Driving domain.
• You define and co-ordinate new features andchanges to the system architecture.
• Additionally, you implement features, test them in simulation, hardware and support activities to test the car itself.
• You are responsible for cross-cutting requirements like the overall performance, quality, security and safety aspects of the softwarecomponent.
• You will work with a modern development environment with tools such as Rust, C++ 14/17, Clang, Bazel, Git/GitHub EE, Zuul CI, GoogleTest, Lua, Python.
• You will have the freedom & autonomy to develop tools and frameworks to support all aspects of software development, design and testing.
• You will learn from others and in turn you will inspire and help your team to learn and grow through your expertise and proactive approach to excel in all aspects of software engineering.

Must have Experience:

• A joy for everything software, a passion for working with like-minded colleagues to develop cutting-edge software solutions.
• Strong expertise in embedded software engineering with C++ (C++11/14/17), with knowledge of modern software design patterns and principles.
• Expertise in Python / Rust is a plus.
• ADAS experience is preferred.
• Experience in CI and test automatization as well as state-of-the-art software quality practices.
• Proficiency in using version control systems (e.g., Git), build tools (e.g., Bazel, CMake), debugging utilities (e.g., GDB), and performance analysis tools.
• Familiarity with automotive communication protocols like Ethernet/SomeIP.
• Readiness to work according to an agile development methodology like Scrum.
• Fluent English for professional use, German is a plus.
• University degree in Computer Science / Electronics or a similar field of study (B.E./ B.Tech/ M.Tech/ Ph.D.).
• You are versatile and have an insatiable appetite for learning and improving things around you.
