Job summary

Manulife MBPS Actuarial Function is hiring an Actuarial Manager to lead IFRS 17 interpretation, data analysis, and valuation support. You will drive validation, reporting processes, and knowledge sharing across teams while working in a hybrid setup near UP Ayala Technohub. A strong actuarial background and 10+ years in insurance are required.

The role offers opportunity to shape models and analytics, with collaboration across regions and a focus on accuracy and efficiency in valuation tasks.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Finance, or related field
• At least 10 years of actuarial work experience in Insurance or Financial Services
• Associate designation in any recognized actuarial organization (SOA, ASP), with meaningful progress towards Fellowship.
• Excellent proficiency in MS Office (Excel, VBA, Access), GGY AXIS, SQL, Qlikview, Python or similar programs
• Demonstrated experience in applying actuarial concepts to independently model and analyze actuarial financial metrics
• Proven analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to gather, synthesize, organize, and report information to various levels
• Amenable to work in UP Ayala Technohub (Quezon City) and to a hybrid setup (3x a week onsite)

Responsibilities

• Support IFRS 17 implementation by interpreting new standard and translating it into user requirements
• Consolidate, analyze and explain financial and data analysis results
• Support future business reporting process design and ensure compliance with valuation control requirements for Business Unit teams
• Provide advice on results validation for IFRS 17 solutions focusing on accuracy and efficiency
• Provide documentation and training to other team members on the subject matters
• Provide ad-hoc support to the team (e.g., AXIS modeling work) as resources permit
